Gnome 2.6 menus customization?

I recently switched from mandrake 10 to fedora and I only have a few qualms. First, I loved Mandrake's (gnome 2.4) ability to customize all the applications/prefernces menus to my liking. How do I do this in Fedora? Is it because of Gnome 2.6 or because Fedora lacks a lot of customization options? Also, I can't seem to get NTFS support working for the amd64 distribution. All the sites online say its possible, but I can't find the RPM's for the kernal patch. I would love to stay with Fedora assuming I can fix the menus, view ntfs, and get the nvidia driver working. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

For the menu, yes, it is hell to work it on Fedora gnome. You have to be as root to fix it by editing some files. Maybe you can customize with gui but it has to be root. So try to edit the menu via gui with root account first. For ntfs support , just in case you cann't find the rpm kernel path you can try this option:

You can even write to ntfs partition. For the rest, I don't know.

wow, that's bad news. I was really hoping I could customize the menus without too much of a headache. I guess I'll wait for Mandrake 10.1 or maybe try Fedora core 3.

Thanks for your help.

trying customizing the desktop taskbar, et al and just add buttons for your favorite programs. I hardly ever even look in the main menu. I modified my desktop to look like dropline gnome. best of luck.
