glibc problems

hello,
I've tried seaches but still found no real solution to my problem here. There is one thread on this site but it doesn't solve the guy's problem (and mine).

My FC_4 x86 was humming along, all of a sudden I get this...

~]$startx
/usr/bin/gnome-session: /lib/libc.so.6: version 'GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /usr/lib/libpango-1.0.so.0)
..then X server shuts down..

So I go to comple something...

checking pkg-config is at least version 0.9.0... /usr/bin/pkg-config: /lib/libc.so.6: version `GLIBC_2.4' not found (required by /usr/bin/pkg-config)

lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 18 Oct 18 00:01 libc.so.6 -> /lib/libc-2.3.5.so
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1485672 Oct 19 04:05 libc-2.3.5.so

..looks ok to me? you?

installed packages....

glib2-2.6.4-1
glibc-2.3.5-10
dbus-glib-0.33-3
glibc-common-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-common-2.3.5-10
glibc-devel-2.3.5-10
glibc-headers-2.3.5-10
glib-devel-1.2.10-16
glibc-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-kernheaders-2.4-9.1.94
glib-1.2.10-16
glib2-devel-2.6.4-1

wtf happened, or at least how do I fix?

thanks

at least how do I fix?

Glibc-2.3.5-10.3 seems current (aug 23rd) so I'd suggest you check the FC mailinglists for problems/fixes because FC4 is still in development.

right on, ya I installed the devel glibc and it seems to have fixed it, well that aspect, now I have a host
of other problems, I think related to having the devs on., and so it goes...

here's what's installed
glib-1.2.10-16
glibc-devel-2.3.5-10
dbus-glib-0.33-3
glib2-devel-2.6.4-1
glibc-2.3.5-10.3
glib-devel-1.2.10-16
glibc-2.3.5-10
glibc-headers-2.3.5-10
glibc-common-2.3.90-14
glib2-2.6.4-1
glibc-common-2.3.5-10.3
glibc-kernheaders-2.4-9.1.94
glibc-common-2.3.5-10
glibc-2.3.90-14

and so the 2.3.90-14 seems to have the GLIBC_2.4 support in the libraries.
