Had Mic working on same computer in FC3, but can't get it to work FC4. 2.6.12-1.1387_FC4
Audigy2 ZS soundcard all sounds working normal but can't get mic to work in
Skype or Krec.
All setting in Kmix is turned up, alsamixer shows setting are up,arts setting are up,
Control Center , sound is enabled, and hardware, has autodetect and Full Duplex
enabled.
I do have to admit, when it comes to sound that works $Windoze sure does have it over Linux.
NO!!!, I'm not going back to using $Windoze, so don't even say it.
Oh well that was my only real Idea Maybe someone else with this card has some ideas.
If you run alsamixer and then press F4 so it shows only capture devices then scan along to the mic, can you press space and select that as the new capture device ? or don't you have that choice either.
I'm a little in the dark as to what your saying,
I can start alsamixer and hit F4 and get 'capture' and use arrow keys to move to mic and if I hit space bar, nothing changes for mic. the box is clear for mic.
What am I missing?
It recomends adding ATRPMS to your yum repo list and updating the alsa packages.
so add this to /etc/yum.conf
[at-stable]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-stable
Simon_6162, you got me straighten out , i found by hitting the up arrow at 'capture', mic I got the mic turn on and I also had to enable mic Boost.
Everything is okay now .
