Getting Microphone working FC4-KDE

Had Mic working on same computer in FC3, but can't get it to work FC4. 2.6.12-1.1387_FC4
Audigy2 ZS soundcard all sounds working normal but can't get mic to work in
Skype or Krec.
All setting in Kmix is turned up, alsamixer shows setting are up,arts setting are up,
Control Center , sound is enabled, and hardware, has autodetect and Full Duplex
enabled.
I do have to admit, when it comes to sound that works $Windoze sure does have it over Linux.
NO!!!, I'm not going back to using $Windoze, so don't even say it.

PLEASE HELP
Jim

Have you got the red button ticked under the mic in kmix ? This sets the capture device. The green button at the top toggles mute.

There are no leds above or below the Mic settings, the slide bar is up on Mic for the Audigy2 ZS

Thanks

Oh well that was my only real Idea Maybe someone else with this card has some ideas.

If you run alsamixer and then press F4 so it shows only capture devices then scan along to the mic, can you press space and select that as the new capture device ? or don't you have that choice either.

I'm a little in the dark as to what your saying,
I can start alsamixer and hit F4 and get 'capture' and use arrow keys to move to mic and if I hit space bar, nothing changes for mic. the box is clear for mic.
What am I missing?

Oh ok, on my sound blaster live 5.1 if you hit space it says capture below it.

I've done some searching and found this
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showth...5&page=2&pp=15

It recomends adding ATRPMS to your yum repo list and updating the alsa packages.

so add this to /etc/yum.conf
[at-stable]
name=ATrpms for Fedora Core $releasever stable
baseurl=http://apt.atrpms.net/fedora/$releasever/en/$basearch/at-stable

then import the gpg key by running
wget http://ATrpms.net/RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms
rpm --import RPM-GPG-KEY.atrpms

Good luck

Simon_6162, you got me straighten out , i found by hitting the up arrow at 'capture', mic I got the mic turn on and I also had to enable mic Boost.

Thanks
Jim
