Getting a Epson ET-2550 to print

Fedora 27 .
Have Downloaded the drivers from the Epson ET-2550 and Installed in /opt/epson directory but can't get printer to print.
Cannot find any ppd files for this printer in /opt/epson.

The printer does not show up in /usr/share/cups/model/foomatic-db-ppds.

has anyone got any Ideals on to get this printer to print.

Did you check /opt/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/ppds/ directory? The 'epson-inkjet-printer-escpr' RPM provides PPDs for a large numbe of models.

Something like this should list the files supplied...

I don't have the rpm epson-inkjet-printer-escpr installed where do you get that rpm ?

There are two driver packages available for printing support...
epson-inkjet-printer-escpr
epson-printer-utility

I BLEW IT, I didn't install the PPD.rpm, but I do have it installed now.

Epson-ET-2550_Series-epson-inkjet-printer-escpr.ppd.gz

ln -s /usr/share/cups/model/foomatic-db-ppds/epson /opt/epson/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr.ppd.gz

You could do something like

ln -s /opt/epson-inkjet-printer-escpr/ppds/Epson/Epson-ET-2550_Series-epson-inkjet-printer-escpr.ppd.gz /usr/share/cups/model/

but really all you need to do is point the installer at the required .ppd file (wherever it is located).
