fstab changes and symlinks gone after reboot in FC3
Hi everyone!
I've installed FC3 recently and came across a few problems, as usual. Most of it is working just fine by now, but these keep bugging me a little. Hope someone can give me a hand. Regarding fstab, i read somewhere that kuzdu may be responsible for this, so i tried disabling it. Still, all went back to how it was before reboot. Is there another service or parameter capable of overriding all changes? Hal daemon maybe? Just wanna be sure. The symlink problem confuses me even more. It's just the usual "ln -s /dev/hdc /dev/dvd". I create the link, it works ok and then, it dissapears after reboot. None of this happened with past fedora versions or other distros, so i guess i'm missing some simple detail or things have changed more than i thought. Thanks in advance. GKid |
If you're using devfs, files you manually create in /dev are non-persistent.
What exactly happens with fstab? Can you show a before and after? |
