Freshly Installed Fedora Wont Boot-AGPGART...
Hi,
I'm somewhat new to linux and decided to try Fedora Core 6. After a seamless and flawless installation, i went to boot it up for the first time, as soon as i select Fedora, it takes me to a black screen which says: AGPGART: unable to get memory for graphics translation table What the heck does this mean? Any suggestions? Thanks! Specs: Desktop AMD Athlon 64 3200+ nVidia GeForce 6200 128mb AGP graphics card 1gb PC3200 ram 250 gb EIDE hdd partitioned for ~50gb for Fedora Gigabyte GA-K8NSC-939 motherboard (if you need anything else, please let me know) Thanks Again! |
You can try the following:
When the Grub splash screen is displayed press any key. Select the Linux boot choice and press the 'e' key Select the kernel line and press the 'e' key again At the end of the line add a space followed by iommu=noagp When done press the 'Enter' key followed by the 'b' key If this works then you might want to find out if a BIOS re-set or upgrade is in order. Also search this site for nVidia graphics interfaces and FC6. The HCL comes to mind, for both the nVidia and motherboard/system. |
