I installed the FreeType1 fonts in Linux to get this Windows App. running through Wine to display clear graphics.
BUT !! Fedora 11 /Kde-4.3 If I run a App. one time the fonts are very clear in the Windows App., but if I shut App. down and restart, the Fonts go wacky, I have to Logout of KDE or restart computer to be able to get good fonts in the Windows app. again. |
it is sounding more like a graphics card and driver problem
can you post a screen shot of the "fonts are all messed " what is your 3d cared and what driver did you install? |
The only problem with that is that there is no way you can display a attachment on Linuxquestions.
And second this problem only occurs in this particular application running in Wine. It is definitely a font problem. If I open it one time in KDE-4.3 it displays the fonts perfectly. If I shut it down in KDE and then try to open the Application again some of the fonts are bad. If I log out of KDE and come back in, then run application again, the fonts are again displayed perfectly. This problem is with fonts only, Graphics is displayed ok. |
Quote:
is it this one "FullTiltPoker" i think it might need directx 9 or 10 and/or silverlight for direct x to run in wine you need FULL openGL 2.2 support on your 3d card. there are many " poker" games for linux , why not use one of them. |
2 points:
1) you can post an attachment. When creating a post, Go Advanced, and you should see a button somewhere near the bottom called "Manage attachments" by which you can upload an image or whatever. 2) A more informative thread title may benefit you. Something like: "FC11+KDE under Wine: Fonts all messed up!?" would serve you better :) Kind regards, Sasha |
The Video card I'm using is a Ati Radeon Mobility 9200 AGP and from I can find out it has 3d cap.
Does Fedora have a driver that will run this card, I can't see anything in Fedora repo . |
fedora 11 , as far as i know dose not have good 3d - if any- using an ATI card .
ATI's last driver was a POS from what i read . The built in opensource fglx driver works some what as far as i know . but as far as FULL opengl 2.2 support ??? i do not know if that is working yet for ATI cards. ( for nvidia cards - yes ) ati ???? for poker this is what i get from yum Code:
yum search poker |
I would, but !! it ain't my computer
And I do get the experience of working with wine. Thanks for your help. |
