Flash problem with firefox.

I've used it with mandrake before so I'm somewhat sure this is a disto specific problem or a problem with my set up, anyway...

I've tried moving the directory around, changing it's permissions(yes I used -R) and that of the plugin itself and I still get an error when I run it in console and it encounters a flash object. The object just shows up as the little puzzle piece thing and when I install the plugin by clicking on it I still get the same outcome after I restart firefox. This is the output:

Quote:
LoadPlugin: failed to initialize shared library /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so [/usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so: cannot restore segment prot after reloc: Permission denied]
If you can lend a hand I'd appreciate it.

SELinux is blocking the relocation of the library. This command should fix you right up.
Code:
# chcon -t textrel_shlib_t /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so

As root;

Create /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins (if needed)

Move all plugins from /usr/lib/mozilla-<version#>/plugins to the newly created directory, except for the libnullplugin.so file (if needed).

Make sure the the symlinked directory /usr/lib/firefox/plugins is linked to /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

$ ls -al /usr/lib/firefox/plugins
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 24 May 3 18:32 plugins -> /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins

Copy or move the flashplayer files to the /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins location.

$ ls -al /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins
-r--r--r-- 1 root root 856 Dec 8 19:44 flashplayer.xpt
-rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 2154768 Dec 8 19:44 libflashplayer.so
