Firefox update problems

I updated Firefox yesterday .
Now for some sites I get this .
This includes gmail.com .
Quote:

Unexpected response from server
Firefox doesn't know how to communicate with the server
Check to make sure your system has the Personal Security Manager
installed.
This might be due to a non-standard configuration on the server.
What do I check ?
All the sites I have problems with open in Mozilla.
ALL the sites are https sites. Secure sites.
Previous version did not have any problems.

I have been through those and I think 3 are enabled . Will check again . What is Personal security manager? Maybe some protocol is missing . There are 3 there TSl , SSl 2 , SSl 3.

Got this from another forum.
The solution is this .
firefox -profilemanager
'create a new profile
'copy the created profile compreg.dat to ./mozilla/firefox/xxxxxx.default
That should do it . :D

firefox update problems

Until updated with yum install firefox on fc5 to the latest version, firefox that came with the fc5 dvd worked fine. And post updation by yum install firefox, the sites gmail.com & https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/ didnot open.

However, after downloading the latest software version from firefox website (http://www.mozilla.com/products/down...in&lang=en-US) and pointing the program start button to firefox in the extracted directory or running by ./firefox through that directory, the problem was solved.

However, on Windows firefox worked fine.

firefox update problem

Hi,

I ran into the same problems when only updating firefox with yum. If you update the package nss first

# yum update nss

and then firefox

# yum update firefox

it works. Obviously here are some package dependencies not correctly implemented.

Have fun.:)
