Firefox profile

Hi guys,
I was able to extract and run firefox in linux, and the first thing i did was i added bookmarks on firefox and exited the application. I created a application launcher to it on my gnome desktop but to my surprise, all the bookmarks i added were not there. Is this issue related with the profiles of firefox? how should i go about this?

When you extracted it did you do it as root? Then did you add your bookmarks as root? When you went back in did you go in as a regular user?

If the answer to all that is yes, then you can probably copy your bookmark file over to the other profile. The profile is located in ~/.phoenix and the bookmark is in one of the directories. I believe it is called bookmarks.html. Just copy it from root's profile to your profile.

I had no problems with bookmarks coming over into Firefox after I shut it down and then restarted it.
