firefox on windows and firefox on linux
 
hi everyone i would like to know if the firefox for win and the one for linux are same? the one for windows i changed some values and added a string to make it run faster would it be same for linux firefox?i dont wanna go into firefox on linux pc and change the strings and values without knowing if im gonna get screwed and not beable to use it or mess it up. im running fc4 if that helps.on windows pc im running firfox 1.0.6 on fc4 pc im running firefox 1.0.6 please advise.

The code base is the same but there are subtle differences in the gui (placement of menus and other options).

And if your setting tweaks do mess up Firefox somehow, just delete the /home/username/.mozilla folder and relaunch Firefox.

Won't he lose his bookmarks if he deletes /home/username/.mozilla folder ??

Yes, good point.

Back up export your bookmarks first. Then, delete the folder.
Bookmarks > Manage Bookmarks > File > Export

I have noticed very subtle differences but nowt to be concerned about!

I say just enjoy Firefox the way it is! I have heard people saying Opera is better but I do not see that at all

The guys at Mozilla/Firefox have done an absolutely fantastic job and they have made my browsing experience what it should be! Fun, fast and just generally un-Windows like

--EDIT-- I am very bad at editing my posts due to my eyesight being poor, sorry about that, good job Firefox does Ctrl+ yea that sounds quite mad but if you do press Ctrl++, it enlarges the font and its very helpful unlike IE and it goes as large a font as you like it to be!
