Firefox freezing while browsing

Firefox freezes while browsing,and I have to shut computer off and reboot to get anything to work.
Using Ati 7000/64mb adapter, With or without kmod-fglrx installed.

How long do you wait before rebooting? On some systems, a TCP/IP request that's "dropped" by the network connection can cause an apparent "freeze" 'till the adaptor times out, and some adapters default to a 600 second time out delay.

So, on the face of it, I'd suspect "network problems" rather that "Firefox problems."

Have you tried any other browsers? (e.g., Konqueror, Mozilla, etc.)

Increase and clear the cache. That will probably solve your problem.
