Finepix Digital Camera


Hello all,
i'm trying to use my fuji finepix 2650 digi cam on fedora. its connected via a USB port. the system doesn't recognize the camera. i didn't know where to start.
i'd really appreciate some advice on this.

What you need is the linux drivers, i checked the fujifilm website and couldnt find any linux drivers, so you'll have to email them to find out if they have drivers... thats the only way around i can think of

It sounds like that Fuji camera can simply be mounted as a USB device and hence no need for a specific driver.

Also, you could just buy a card reader for the camera. Here is an article dealing with card readers that conform to the USB standards and how they are making life easier for Linux users:

Nice link there I found that somewhat amusing actually. I just got done turning my XP gaming machine into a new FC2 box, and went looking for help on how to get FC2 to recognize my Finepix 2650... because I forgot how I did it last year. Oddly enough, that was my thread there! Go figure.

on FC2, a quick look at /etc/fstab with the camera plugged in, turned on, and set to usb mode though showed it already has an entry and all I did was launch a terminal and mount /mnt/camera and there it is.
