Finding original parition label of a partition

I have attached a hard disk from another PC to a running PC. Now how do I find the original partition labels (like /, /opt, /var, etc) from the second disk?

You may have noticed that when you install Linux, the installer finds the original label when you select the partition for modification with disk druid.

Thanks.

What's up with that?

You could also use e2label. For example: e2label /dev/hdb2

.
