Question Finally making the switch

Ive used windows since day one and several months ago I installed fedora core 5 on my spare computer and got it up to my standards. ie: play dvd's mp3's and avi's.

Heres my question, windows as we all know keeps track of everything we do. What programs are used, what files are accessed, the websites we go to, everything... and it takes programs to clean all that crap up.
Does fedora 6 do that? My job requires I keep my system as clean as I can, ive heard linux is more secure as well.

Linux keeps a great deal more information, actually. Look in /var/log for a tiny part of what's being watched. cat /var/log/messages, etc. It's a really bad idea to interfere with anything linux is doing, in re: logging, etc. Every day, each week, month, at 4AM, he will clean up after himself, if just left alone. One reason why linux is intended to run 24X7.
