Fedora33 Cinnamon Upgrade what happens with the filesytem?

Fedora33 Cinnamon Upgrade what happens with the filesystem? It has a new filesystem but I have Ext4 on my Fedora 32. What will happen?

Is it better to just put it on a new sdd?

Read the doco and you'll know. Start with the release notes.

Where do you read that it has a new filesystem? Fedora 33 makes BTRFS the default filesystem for PCs (which is surprising, since Red Hat has given up support for BTRFS if I am not totally wrong). This means, new installations will propose a BTRFS-Based disk layout. You can still opt for a different layout, and:

My 32 has ext4 but I cannot upgrade it. It gets to the wine upgrade and then says Oops and everything halts I have to switch off and no upgrade has been done. 6 months at least this has been going on.

This doesn't seem to be related to BTRFS, or to Fedora 33, which became available less than one month ago.

Create a new question with a precise description of the problem.

No only have ext 4 Fedora 32 and dnfdragora gets stuck on WineHQ

Then

Cannot upgrade to Fedora 33 using software either as it cannot find MariaDB in the repositories.

Has anyone been able to update to Fedora 33 anyway?

I upgraded to F33 from F32 cinnamon a few weeks ago, using the 'dnf upgrade' approach, and it worked OK, no problems.

Cheers,
Terry

Hi
I also was going to dnf upgrade F32 to F33, but wanted to change from ext4 to BTRFS, so I decided to wipe the drive to access the new file system.

your filesystem will be the same as it was before upgrade. If you want the new bttrfs then you will want to install fresh on unformatted drive.
