Introduction to Linux - A Hands on Guide
This guide was created as an overview of the Linux Operating System, geared toward new users as an exploration tour and getting started guide, with exercises at the end of each chapter.
For more advanced trainees it can be a desktop reference, and a collection of the base knowledge needed to proceed with system and network administration. This book contains many real life examples derived from the author's experience as a Linux system and network administrator, trainer and consultant. They hope these examples will help you to get a better understanding of the Linux system and that you feel encouraged to try out things on your own.

I can't boot fedora after I was playing with debian on one of my partitions
It goes to INIT level 5
then it says unable to open fstab for writing: read only file system [failed]
then it goes through a few more things and it hangs on Starting system logger:
How can I fix that?
I mean I can reinstall the whole thing but I want to learn how to fix it.
CD rescue option doesn't help. It gets stack on somewhere and it takes me to the console
Actually after 10 minutes it moved on and it said that can't start X
But it let me login in a text mode.
I tried to startx but there is whole bunch of strange errors. Like:
xinit: no such file
xinit: no such process
xauth: error in locking authority file /root/.Xauthority
I didn't change anything that could affect fedora partition. At least nothing by my choice.
I don't think it's a grub.conf because grub works fine. It boots all other distros. Also first time I installed Debian I just skipped the grub installation. Second time I installed grub in Debian partition and now I have chainload. But that was after Fedora was messed up and grub works fine anyway.
