Fedora live cd - Screen goes blank right before login screen loads

Hello,
I am trying to install fedora 12 on my computer. I have burned the live cd ISO and it works just fine until right before it shows the login screen. I suspect that it may have to do with my ati radeon 9800 graphics card. I was hoping that some body could give me some boot options or some such thing so that I could install fedora on my computer. Also some other specs
ASUS A7N8X Mother Board
AMD Athalon XP
1GB ram

Thanks in advance.

Also I am using a vga moniter plugged into the video card.

The current penchant for GUI startup has many conflicts with hardware.
As the system is booting hit the tab key to get the kernel command line
Append
nomodeset
to the end of the kernel command line. Mourn the passing of a full featured text mode boot!!

i take it you did not read the "common bugs" wiki page
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bugs/C...llation_issues
-- the ati issue --
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Common...adeon-misc-gfx
