Fedora installation problems
Greetings,
I'm practically new to the linux world. I have very limited experience. In fact the only real experience I've had is setting up a linux proxy server unit in the army a couple years ago. I'm only stating this so that I hopefully don't get responses that are too general for me to understand without hours of research.
Okay... I am currently still searching for the perfect distro for me. I've tried many ranging from Mandrake to Lindows, but I'm not getting a warm and fuzzy about the distro as a whole. I know that Fedora is in testing still, but I'd still like to check it out. Though I cannot seem to get it installed correctly. Both Core 1 and 2 freeze during the graphical interface start up. And text mode spouts off errors about existing partitions. Ignoring those errors finishes the install but then nothing.
I have successfully installed core 2 in VMware, but core 1 causes an error and VMware shuts the VPC down.
I am currently running:
P4 2.8
ATI Radeon 9800Pro
Creative Audigy 2
1 GB RAM
Any help would be appreciated. So far what I've seen in VMware with core2 is very nice. I should also state that I'm not choosy on which Core I can get installed.
Thanks in advance,
SPCSting
