fedora core 7 grief avoid...maybe

booted from FC7 DVD ISO...I have :
(1) plextor (top of the line DVD RW CDRW)
(2) sony DVD RW CDRW

as normal, I selected us..english keyboard...etc

got to a point where the installer asked:

where is FC7 DVD ISO

I selected CD/DVD where I booted from.

It searched and said "could not find FC7 anywhere!"

I tried different drives to no avail!

I remembered I had copied the FC7 DVD ISO image to my Corsair 4 GIG flash drive /dev/sdd.

So the next time I was asked, I gave /dev/sdd (different on different machines)

I did not even enter the directory...it searched the flash drive and the install continued successfully!

WHEW!

Some guy on a Fedora Forum used a USB HD. There are other possibilities!

This did not work for everybody! Return to FC6

I worry about how this will affect newbies!

Another Linux brick wall!

Also my screensaver is back to running slow. I fixed this problem in FC6!

Also sound volume is back to low level as it was years ago!

KsCD produces no sounds as in FC6,

Kaffeine, CD players get confused easily and require rebooting!

Good news is /mono/monodevelop
