Question fedora core 6 doesn't recognize SATA drive during install


hello everyone,

I am trying to install fd6 on a gigabyte ds3 and WD SATA drive, the install process doesn't find any hard drive.

any solution?

Unhappy SATA drive still unrrecognizable on fd6 64 bit

Which controller does the MB use? You may simply need to go to the Psuedo console (maybe on vt/2) and modprobe a kernel module, such as libata, and sata_sil or sata_nv. This may enable you to continue with the partitioning phase. Try modprobing if possible just after the installation eula or during the default language selection. It may be that a module will work but the PCI manufacturers code is to new to be recognised.

If the controller is too new and there isn't a controller for it, as a last ditch effort you could purchase a supported sata card. I doubt it would come to that but it is something to consider, if even for a temporary solution.

how would you go to the pseudo console from anaconda installer !
