During the boot up, at OS selection, press 'A' (IIRC, to edit the grub line) and delete rhgb at the end of the line.. and continue booting..
This has to do with UDEV problem. And to permanently solve the problem.. check the solution above. Download the latest driver (6629) from NVIDIA.. you do not need to patch anything..
Does this have to do with the "Configuring Kernel Parameter" freeze when booting??
Just before i install my 6629 Nvidia drivers and do the changes to my xorg.conf, reboot, then i have this problem. It freeze in the part of Configuring Kernel Parameter.
quick question sorta related to this, i reinstalled fc3 today (ive been having variousproblems) and i did the following
installed fc3
update kernel and a few other things
install nvidia drivers.
ive done this before successfully, but not while booting it looks up after saying something about checking the file system. it mounts ok, then stops. is there anyway to fix this without formatting?
Try coomenting or removing the "rhgb" part in the kernel parameters of your /boot/grub/menu.lst (or grub.conf). To access your Fedora partition, you can "chroot" into it using a rescue disk, installation CD1. I save myself the time and effort by just using a live CD like Knoppix or Mepis to access an otherwise inaccessible partition.
