Fedora Core 3 and Totem Movie Player
"Just installed Fedora Core 3 on my Toshiba Satellite, wow what a Totem DVD Player to work any help?"
What an idiot I am. Ok here we go again. This time with an external keyboard. "I just installed Fedora Core 3 on my Toshiba Satellite Laptop without any problems. It even solved some hw problems I had with core 2. One thing, I can't get Totem to work. It seems to recognize the DVD, but will not play it. Is there anybody out there that has figured this out?" Thank You in advance. |
Fedora Core 3 uses GStreamer backend totem, and from what I gather, dvd support is currently disabled in GStreamer backend totem - not because of Fedora, but because the GStreamer developer had a reason to (visualizers are also turned off).
You can install the xine backend totem, or you can use ogle to play DVD's - which is what I do. I think freshrpms has the xine backend totem if you want to use that. |
