Fedora Core 2 much slower than Red Hat 9

People,

I have recently upgraded from Red Hat 9 to Fedora Core 2 As well as this, my machines processor speed has been increased from 1.5GHz to 2.4GHz, and RAM has gone to 1G. I thought all of this would result in everything happening quicker, but I have found nearly every process is just a little bit slower than it was under RH9. Bootup especially takes a long time. Has anybody else experienced similar problems? Is there anything I can do, or is this just something I have to live with (or go back to RH9)?

Thanks in advance

I don't know what to tell you. I've installed FC2 on three machines now that were running RH9, one Duron a PIII-450 and a PIII-500, and all run faster with FC2.

Thanks everyone, maybe this is just something I need to tweak a little. Your responses are greatly appreciated.
