Fedora Core 2 Criticism
If Fedora Core is classed as 'cutting edge' technology, why has it got old versions of programs like MySQL. Surely this is one of the most widely used relational databases and version 3.x should not be included when 4.x uses some different commands.
I would install 4.x nut wouldnt I lose the possibility of uninstalling it through the software update ? |
Probally because they have changed their license in MySQL 4, and the license doesnt match up with the rest of the utilities.
|
but in http://dev.mysql.com/downloads/mysql/4.0.html
we have : The MySQL database server is available under the MySQL AB "dual licensing" model. Under this model, users may choose to use MySQL products under the free software/open source GNU General Public License (commonly known as the "GPL") or under a commercial license. So does any one know why ? |
Do a search on Google. It has been discussed many times over.
