Fedora Core 2 & Windows 2003 Domain
Ok,
I posted this at fedoraforum.org, but haven't gotten a reply. I have a Fedora Core 2 box at work in a Windows 2003 Domain. I cannot for the life me get samba working as I need. 1) Through "network servers" icon, I can see the domain, the I can see the other systems, but when I click on the system it prompts for username and password. No matter what combination i.e. "username@domain" "domain\username" etc.. it errors out saying access denied. So to sum this one up I need a way to browse the Windows lan. (if I do smbclient -U username -L machinename" I can see the shares after I get prompted for my p/w). I have heard this is a flaw with gnome, any ideas? 2) I need to know how to map a network share at bootup using fstab. I tried to do it using this article: My Webpage But I get this error: cli_negprot: SMB signing is mandatory and we have disabled it. 4918: protocol negotiation failed SMB connection failed Please help if you can! I am suppose to demo this for a client Monday!   |
In regard to number 2..
Try adding client signing = yes server signing = yes to your globals in your smb.conf file. It may help, also it may not. |
