Fedora Core 2 and Internet Connection
I upgrade Fedora Core 1 to Core 2 yesterday. I can ping anything i want to, but I cannot connect to anything using webbrowser, ssh, etc. I have checked and double checked the configuration. The switch and router that is connect to is fine, and the eth device is fine, because i use it in Windows. I have not seen an instance where i can ping something, but i can't connect to it. Weird.. any suggestions.

Check your /etc/resolv.conf files for correct nameserver (DNS) entries..
And if you see something like:
search domain.com in there, remove it and only have the:
nameserver <ip-address> in the file. I find that helps at times.

n8dog73,
Are you using a NAT router (eg. Netgear MR814, DLink, Linksys, etc) ?

I am using a Netgear MR814. This however is not the problem. I was using it before I upgraded and I have other machines on this guy. They are all working correctly.

See if you can ping your local network. If you can then you probably have the same problem as me and it's as simple as bouncing the MR814 (ie. cut the power for 10sec and power up again) and then power up your machine.
Later,
Farzad
