Angry Fedora Core 2 alias settings

Hello,

I installed FC2 on an Intel box and am at my wits end to find out where the alias settings are. I have a SUSE installation that has the global alias
settings in the /etc/bash.bashrc file. But FC2 has a /etc/bashrc file that does not have any of the global aliases. I have looked everywhere but seem to be missing the location of the alias setting. Pls help. My home .bashrc is referencing the /etc/bashrc file, but that file does not have the aliases. appreciate any help.

Angry additional information

when I do an 'alias', I get the following o/p.....

alias l.='ls -d .* --color=tty'
alias ll='ls -l --color=tty'
alias ls='ls --color=tty'
alias vi='vim'
alias which='alias | /usr/bin/which --tty-only --read-alias --show-dot --show-tilde'

.... but I can't seem to find where they are being set. I am not setting them. They are
set somewhere globally and I cant find it in /etc/bashrc. Where else can they be set?

thanks for your help

In my installation /etc/bashrc will execute all *.sh scripts in directory /etc/profile.d. Some of them contain aliases.

Talking thanks...lasseW

lasseW,

thanks for your help. You hit the nail right on the head. that is where all the
script files are that are being executed and there is not a mention of that anywhere
about aliases being stuffed in somewhere other than where they should be. Thanks
again for your help. much appreciated
