Fedora Core 1 and games @ pogo web site

I've been digging through Google, LQ, etc. and can't find anything solid on how to get games at the pogo web site (sorry can't type the actual name since it gets converted to a link and I can't link because of not having enough posts) to work with Fedora. I found one posting on LQ where somebody was able to get it work with SUSE 8.2 apparently but no details.

Has anybody gotten this to work? My browser of choice right now is FireFox 0.8. I can't seem to get it to work with Firefox, Mozilla, or any other browser I've tried. IE works fine with it though. If I could get past this, I think I could convince my wife to try it regularly - but not having those games to play seems to be a big negative.

I've got 1.4 java installed and seems to work fine in Mozilla 1.6. I'm not getting any apparent errors - it just goes to load a game and stays on the loading page forever.

"how to get games at the pogo web site"

Since you can't get Mozilla to download pogo, I suggest that you try using gftp to download pogo. gftp is a more sophisticated downloader than the Mozilla download manager.

The problem is, the games at pogo are online / java based - but even though I have java installed and functioning, it still fails to do anything. I'll keep digging for a Fedora answer but also will try FTP-installing Suse as well. If nothing else, I should be able to check out another distro!

Thanks,
bav

Smile www.pogo.com will work on Linux (FC1)

Came across the link below (hopefully it displays as a link). Following the instructions here, I was successful in getting the WWW.POGO.COM games to work on FC1 using firefox 0.9.1. The only catch was, it would not run the script from a terminal after I su'ed. Logging in as root and running the script worked great. All worked under personal ID's after that.
