Fedora & Mainboard Drivers
I use nVidia NForce 2 motherboards on all my linux machines.
In Windows, I download the NForce 2 drivers to use the motherboard to its full potential. When I install a distrobution on Linux, the kernel seems to just use what I assume is generic drivers for the board which to me seems very wasteful since I am spending extra cash on these advanced chipsets on my mainboards. Is there a way I can install nNvidia drivers for my mainboard like I do when I replace the generic graphic drivers for the nVidia video drivers. The reason I ask is because I am thinking of getting the NForce 3 chipset when it is released. |
This nvidia page has nforce drivers. With Fedora Core 2 you may need to use the 'Alternate Installation' download or wait until Fedora Core 2 has a binary download. I hope this is what you are looking for.
