Fedora 9 Usb Problem
 

Hi, there seems to be a problem mounting ntfs partitions on my usb installation. The two partitions don't show up in the desktop nor can I access them. The places menu has links to these partitions but bothing happens when I click on them.

But when I log in as root, these works beautifully. After that if I log in with the automatic login,these drives show up and are accessible.

Please help!

This could be because you first mounted the partition as root and did not allow the normal user to mount the partition. I don't know how Fedora does it, but in Mandriva and PCLos, with the partition manager open, there is a button to toggle expert mode, under which you get the option to allow normal user to mount drive. Enabling this helps.
Ultimately, this only causes a small change to the fstab file, and editing the file to make this change directly is also possible. But I do not how.
