Fedora 9 Usb Problem
Hi, there seems to be a problem mounting ntfs partitions on my usb installation. The two partitions don't show up in the desktop nor can I access them. The places menu has links to these partitions but bothing happens when I click on them.
But when I log in as root, these works beautifully. After that if I log in with the automatic login, these drives show up and are accessible. Please help! |
This could be because you first mounted the partition as root and did not allow the normal user to mount the partition. I don't know how Fedora does it, but in Mandriva and PCLos, with the partition manager open, there is a button to toggle expert mode, under which you get the option to allow normal user to mount drive. Enabling this helps.
Ultimately, this only causes a small change to the fstab file, and editing the file to make this change directly is also possible. But I do not how. |
