fedora 8, thunderbird problem...


Hi,
when I start thunderbird on Fedora 8 I've got this error:

(thunderbird-bin:3063): Gtk-WARNING **: Can't find engine themes in module_path: źnodoka╗,

Please help.

Start thunderbird from within a terminal and post the error output here.

Change the default theme and see if you get the same error.

That's ALL the output? Google returns 2 hits and both point back to this thread. Just for kicks I installed Thunderbird on my laptop. It installed no trouble and ran without error. I was hoping that I'd get the same error. How about looking at the system logs for hints...

how you installed thunderbird? RPM, yum?

yum install thunderbird. Honestly, it works perfectly 'out of the box'. I really wish I could be of more help to you. Not being a super Linux genius I wonder if the problem is with GTK. I wouldn't think that it has anything to do with theme choice.

I don't want use the rpm version.
With that version it works also for me... I want to use the binary from mozilla.com ...
