Fedora 8: Inkscape metadata checksum mismatch!!
Dear All
I just can't seem to get Inkscape installed here, its keeps on repeating the same. Other packages are fine, what could be the problem? Thanks Note: Its been like this since many days. Quote:

The problem has nothing to do with Inkscape. What you see is a mismatch between a metadata index file and the metadata files.
Have you tried "yum clean metadata" already? Further, one can verify manually whether the mirrors you use are up-to-date or serve broken files (while they still sync from the master). |
Thanks for the reply. The servers are fine as like you said they can be opened manually from the browser. But will try yum clean.

Verifying the metadata involves loading the server's "repodata" directory and downloading at least "repomd.xml", the metadata index file. In the file there are the SHA checksums of the metadata archive files.
Because yum caches the repomd.xml file below /var/cache/yum, it can happen that switching mirrors leads to a mismatch between the cached copy and what is found on a mirror. If it happens to you often, disable the mirrorlist and enable your favourite server. |
