Fedora 7 + Wine 0.9.36 = slow screen refresh
I've installed Fedora 7 (from FC5) and generally speaking, I like it.
I have one serious issue though, that being with Wine. Simply put, whenever I use it, it slows down the screen refresh pretty badly. Older versions of Wine apparently don't do this, as I never remember having slowdowns like this with F5 and the earlier versions... I use Wine to run perhaps one of the most outstanding of all Windows programs : The Proxomitron. I've not found a Linux replacement for it that I like, so I still run Wine. Unfortunately, it means I keep Wine running all the time, and so it slows everything down. I can't be the only F7 user with this problem, either. Does anyone know of a fix for this? Thanks in Advance -- Crotalid |
Me too
I have the exact same problem, although it is with Wine version .9.39. When wine loads, FC7 becomes incredibly slow, yet the cpu is not being consumed. It is just a slow refresh as Crotalid said.
Ideas? [edit] This happens in both KDE and gnome, but it is more noticeable in kde. |
