Fedora 5 problems with gnome and ati video driver

Hi all. I'm really quite new to any linux distro and I've been able to climb out of most of the holes I've dug for myself. Anyway, I've run into a spot of trouble with gnome and my ati video drivers.

I followed this guide to install the drivers from the livna repo.

After doing this and rebooting I found that the windows were 'locked'. They could not be moved, and they were not showing up in the task bar. Also it takes a good deal of time to load the OS now. It hangs on Window.

I'm currently using the KDE environment, and it's working fine, but I would rather use gnome. I wouldnt mind reinstalling gnome if that would fix the problem, but i would need a bit of help doing it.

Thanks in advance.

I got a little impatient. I just uninstalled the offending drivers with yumex and gnome is running fine again. No big hassle there. If anyone knows how to get the drivers working, would you please let me know.
