Fedora 3 and Nvidia Sata (Please Help It is Important to me)
Hey everyone have a real issue here. I tried installing Fedora 3 on AMD64 Platform and I am getting a ata failed to respond after trying to boot from the boot loader. This is the platform I have.
MSI Keo 2 Plantium Nvidia 250 Chipset Motherboard
AMD 64 Socket 939 3000+ Cpu
Kingston Hyper X DDR 4000
2 Sata Drives (Non Raid) on Nvidia Sata Ports 3 & 4
NEC DVDRW 2500 & 3500 Drives
Now the problem is that I installed Windows XP on one Sata Drive and then installed Fedora on the second sata drive. I told Fedora to use its boot loader and install it at the MBR. That all went fine and great but when I choose to boot into Fedora from the boot loader it starts to uncompress the kernel and then a few seconds later says ata failed to respond. Now I am not that great with Linux. I am lucky I know how to install it but I do have a basic idea of commands to move around in linux so not that beginner in it. But my theory is that has something to do with the module used in the kernel that fedora uses. If that is it how would I go about getting this to work?
One more question would I be able to install Fedora on the Nvidia Raid on this board. I know the raids are software based and that be smarter to just do a software raid in the partition but I decided to reinstall windows last night and just make the Nvidia raid.
Anyone with suggestions please because I really like to work on Linux. I am getting tired of Windows but I do need windows for dam games.
Thanks.
