Fedora 20 Manual partitioning

I have new drives a SSD 265GB and a 2 TB standard Hard disk.
I intend to install Fedora 20 64bit from a DVD, I have the DVD.
This is a clean install from scratch.

I would like to use the GPT scheme

I want to have the /boot and / partitions on the SSD thn put the /home partition on the 2TB standard hard drive. I will most likely put the swap on the SSD (at tis stage).

So I get into the install process and get to the partitioning section. I can see the SSD as "sda" and the Hard disk as "sdb". I select both drives for the install and then select the "sda" as the boot drive.

I go into manual partitioning.

Hit the "+" and add the "/boot" and see that it has been allocated to sda1 (after entering a size) do the same again for the "/" partition.

Then I want to add the "/home" partition but I want to put it on sdb. And there in lies my problem. How do you do it?

have I missed some vital setp somewhere?

I would be gateful if someone can enlighten me please.

I don't use Fedora so I'm not familiar with their installer. Usually the installer will show all drives/partitions and you select one. Do you have any partitions on sdb? Have you read the installation how to below at Fedora? You need to select the third option, "I want to review/modify my disks before continuing to create and edit the partitions yourself".

Yes I have been using the "I want to review/modify my disks" section. It is within that section that I can not see how to put the "/home" partition on sdb.

Both sda and sdb are totally new disks, just as they come out of the box.

I have been through lots of documents and nowhere can I find information relation for Fedora 20. I have done it no problems in other Fedora releases no problem but there seems to be something missing in Fedora 20 or I am blind.

The only solution I have seen in one documents was to put "/boot" as 500mB on Sba1 the full the rest of the SSD sba with "/" which would then force, if one got the size of "/" right. "/home" on the sdb.

What if you do not want all of the SSD to ne "/"? seems a bit of a silly way to do things. I guess one could always go in later and shrink the size of "/". Still there must be a better way.

I've not had any issues with F20, but to be honest I usually pre-allocate the partitions.
Let me do some testing and report back.

Well yep, that has to rate as one of the most seriously fsck-ed up installers - must have been the test-bed for RHEL 7 (and thus CentOS).
I didn't think Linux installers could get any worse, but that proves me wrong. Again ....

I couldn't make it work without de-selecting one disk - but when you rescan to add back the second disk, you lose the updates. Monumentally stupid.
But how's that news where installers (any distro) are concerned.

Pre-allocate any partitions you want to use.

Try creating the /home partition before you create the root (/) partition.
