fedora 2 reboots randomly on opteron 250 system
I have fedora 2 installed on an AMD Opteron 250 system. The
systems works fine for 12- 48 hours but eventually randomly reboots itself. These reboots do not appear to be crashes, as the system orderly posts a message that it is going to shut down. Checking /var/log/messages shows something like *** syslogd 1.4.1: restart. *** syslog: syslogd startup succeeded I checked the memory with memtest64 and it seems that the RAM is ok. |

One possibility is overheating. You can check for overheating by taking the cover off and setting up an external fan to blow into the case. If the problem goes away then you can install another internal fan. -------------------------- Steve Stites |
