I've tested the ISO's I've downloaded, and tested the burned CD, and the both seem perfect (ISO verified with MD5 and CD scaned with kprobe).
But whenever I start the graphic installation, or mediacheck, each time these processes reach the line:
initrd.img...................................
The computer restarts itself
This computer runs:
Red Hat 9
Mandrake 10.0 + 10.1
WinXP
Win2k
Without any stability problem.
I've burned the 1st CD again using my Plextor Premium CD-RW this time (both times excellent TDK media which NEVER gives me any readability problems), and again the crash
I've ran the memtest86 scan for a few passes and no error what so ever.
I tried the "linux noprobe" option, and again the crash.
My system:
P4 3.2GHz (Northwood)
Asus P4P800 (bios 1018)
1GB RAM (2 x 512MB)
Adaptec 39160 controller (firmware 3.10)
Seagate Baraccuda 7200.7 120GB 8MB buffer (Parallal ATA)
Seagate Baraccuda 7200.7 120GB 8MB buffer (Serial ATA)
Seagate Cheetah 15k.3 73GB
Toshiba SD-M1802 DVD-ROM
Any idea?
Is this a known bug?
Thanks!
Tom
