Fedora 17 Firefox Only Lets Me Browse Certain Websites

I am new to this forum, and I apologize for the how basic my question is. I've been using Debian for the longest, and I've gotten used to it.

I'm taking a class where we use Fedora in our VMs. I've used Fedora one other time than this, and experienced the exact same problem.

The first time I used Fedora it was on a dual boot laptop. I could access the entire internet in Windows, but not Fedora. So I took a guess that it was Firefox acting up.

I went into Firefox, and changed a setting. Sure enough that solved the problem right away.

My VM acts the exact same way. So naturally I went into Firefox to change the setting again, but I had forgotten what I changed.

This is driving me crazy because it is so easy. Does anyone have any idea what I'm talking about? Or similar experience with this issue?

Does anyone know what setting it is I need to change. I've solved it before. I know I can solve it again.

Sorry this is so basic.

it isn't basic...
though,
have you considered trying other browsers? Chrome is a nice alternative...

Also, if you wanna stick with firefox, please give me what error message you see when you can't go in to other websites...

suttwit, thanks. This is a different version of Fedora than I used last time. I had to reinstall it on my VM and it just started working. It is just a VM for a class. I have to use Fedora, and it is just easier to use FF since it is the main browser that comes with it.

Thanks, again.

I'll stick with Debian for personal stuff. Lol.

Before you get too wild on this. Try the command dig or nslookup to see where we stand on IP.
