Fedora 17: booting error after compiling a kernel

After compiling the linux 3.4 kernel, the Fedora 17 cannot boot.
It said something like this:

/dev...does not exist
dropping to debug shell
...
/lib/dracut-lib.sh:line 802:/dev/tty1:does not exist
...

There should be nothing wrong with this compiling, but it just doesn't work with Fedora 17.
can anyone help?
thanks in advance

How did you work that out ? The messages indicate otherwise.

I remove the '.config' file ,
and use 'make localyesconfig'(this time, it uses config-3.3.7 by default).
though still some problems, it boot to the maintain-mode at last.
something must be lost in my own configure file.
I should be more careful...

thank you again...

The official Fedora 3.4 kernel for F17 is building now, and will be ready in a few hours.
