Fedora 16 Software Downloader Trouble.

Hi, that should be downloader trouble, and, I just installed Fedora 16 onto an 8 GB SDHC card in my ASUS Eee PC, 10 inch laptop. I find it a bit difficult and unfamiliar, but the valuable thing I want it for is security, anyhow.

When I was online using my wireless connection, I found that the software downloader did not go as I expected. Is says at the bottom left it is in a queue. Opening, in this case office software options, and even after five minutes, it did not progress.

What can I do? I'd like a word processor, Beagle and a driver for an external modem.

I'd open a terminal window, su to root and then try say 'yum check-update' because it only polls repos to check for updates. The output should show you what errors it encounters if any. If all looks OK you could try 'yum update' (if there are any) or for example 'yum install libreoffice'.
