after installing f15 I am little confused about systray.
In this blog: http://www.paulmaddox.net/2011/05/fe...-where-is.html
it says it is in "bottom right corner of the screen."
But when I move mouse over that area, all I got is semi-transparent
gryed area.
thx!

just point your mouse pointer to the upper left corner to see the windows and applications tabs...
I understand that, but I am wondering is there systray any more in Gnome3/F15, according too above blog there is.
And like I said when I move mouse over down left corner, I got some gray area like there should be something (systray)
but there isnt. thx!

that grey are you see is taskbar ......whenever you run a program, its icon will be shown there.......
don't you see system tray on the uppermost part of your desktop...??
I installed and ran skype on my fedora 15 box, and now i see the usual green spot when I move my mouth to the bottom-right of the screen. I only wish it would not disappear when I move the mouse away, but that's another story

yes, I got systray on uppermost part of desktop. What is with that area at the bottom of desktop- is it supposed to be something there, cos down there there are no icons of any running programs...

most times you won't see any icons there but when you are running some programs like vlc media player, skype, ktorrent then you will see icons of those programs....
that part is basically dedicated to pop-up notifications regarding you system like a crash in nautilus or ABRT notifications...

thx u very much for your patience and answers, I just run VLC and it was down there- thx again!
Does anyone know how to get rid of that bottom system tray? I'm using AWN which seems to take care of all of the functionality that that bottom bar does. That bar just seems poorly implemented and hard to use (slow loading, auto hides, pops up over the very bottom of the screen periodically). I just want to turn it off. Any ideas?
