After upgrading from Fedora 10 to 11, the system hangs on reboot. It has never actually made it to the login screen since the upgrade, and it gets stuck on the screen with the "F" inside a bubble. Once the "F" is fully loaded, the system locks up and becomes totally unresponsive to all input, including ctrl+alt+del. If I press an arrow key before it gets to this point, it does load the text version so I can see what is going on, however it still freezes at the same point. This point is after the following output:
.....
Starting cups: [ OK ]
Starting acpi daemon: [ OK ]
Starting HAL daemon:
After about 10min it finally moves on and loads more things, stopping again at:
Starting Avahi daemon . . . [ FAILED ]
Registering binary handler for Windows applications: [ OK ]
Here it sits stuck forever.

Reason: Situation changed
Thank you all for your suggestions. After failed attempts to boot in Single mode and boot with selinux disabled, I am downloading the DVD .iso to reinstall. Your help was greatly appreciated.
