Fedora 10 hangs on boot

I just installed fedora 10 from KDE live cd, updated all that it wanted to update. Then installed the nvidia drivers from fresh rpms. All said and done, now it wants to hang while booting and this is what it hangs at

sky2 eth0: Link is up at 1000 Mbps, full duplex, flow control both
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_CHANGE): eth0: link becomes ready

how do i get it to stop from hanging? i can ctrl alt f1 to get to command prompts and the such. any help would be appreciated

Hi,

It sounds like X is having trouble and you're not seeing the graphical login screen.

Rename the file /etc/X11/xorg.conf to something else and reboot your machine. It should reconfigure your video card and drivers using system defaults. This should get you back on track.

How important are the NVidia drivers to you? Can you live without them and continue using default drivers? If not, then you've got some work ahead of you to make them work with your system.

Not personally, but I'm sure Google knows an awful lot about it

Did you get your system back to life with the default settings?

Start with going into rescue mode from the install media

linux rescue

then manually setting default boot level to '3' in /etc/inittab. Then at least you'll be able to get in to debug it.
