Fedora 10, Cdrom won't mount
Fedora 10 / KDE4
Put a CD in cdrom drive and it won't mount or read CD ? |
Is it with all CDs or a particular one. I sometimes have that problem with disks created on a Mac. Sometimes they are readable in Windows, but not Linux. Other times, they are just bad disks.

Has it worked before? This may sound naive; but-after I installed F10-...cd's wouldn't mount and I couldn't read them either. It was simply because the user I was logged in as did not have permissions for the drive.(Or did not have permissions to mount it; can't remember right now). I'm just a newb myself, so I figured Fedora 10 was set up that way by default. This of course can be changed with terminal commands, or in my case, I used a gui tool in gnome. I assume KDE has a similar gui tool?

I logged into root in KDE and root couldn't even read or mount cdrom.

In Gnome it is possible to read CD rom by default as a user .
If you try mount it on the cli with commands are you using ? |
But how do you know what /dev it is ?
