Fedora 10 > 11 upgrade

Having a problem with upgrading from Fedora 10 to 11 on my fileserver. I downloaded the DVD, burnt it, and booted fine, but instead of Anaconda presenting me the option to upgrade, it went straight to Welcome/fresh install screen(s). A bit of sleuthing led me to find out that for some reason my software RAID 10 devices didn't get started. I can start them manually from a shell but restarting Anaconda and trying then didn't work either.

So thinking it was just a little quirk and not finding a whole lot on the Internet about it yet, I just opted to do a fresh install, since /home is on a separate partition and reconfiguring wouldn't take that long. Then I noticed that Anaconda only shows /dev/sd{b,c,d} as available to install on, /dev/sda is nowhere to be found (text or graphical install).

So failing that, and not having much to lose in the first place, I decided to upgrade using yum. That went flawlessly (following this mostly) until rebooting and grub not working. Trying to boot with the DVD into rescue mode leads to the same issue as before, RAID devices aren't started and it can't 'find' the OS.

That's the background of all that I've done. Now, I just want to reinstall from scratch, but like I mentioned above Anaconda isn't showing all four of my OS drives (same controller fwiw).

Any suggestions? Thanks.
