FCR1: Kernel update - Syslinux boot disk

Hello,

I am running Fedora Core release 1 which is started with a Syslinux boot disk. With up2date, I get the Kernel update, but this one is not properly installed because I guess the boot disk is pointing to the old kernel version.

Fact is, after rebooting from up2date, at the new login up2date says that the new kernel is there, but not in use. More precisely: "Your system is currently running kernel 2-4-22-1.2115.nptl, but the newest installed kernel is kernel -2.4.22-1.2199.nptl. It is recommended that you reboot at the first opportunity to test this new kernel".

So, how do I get the new kernel to run ... booting from my Syslinux floppy?

Thanks for your help!

Pasquale

You can create a new bootdisk with the command 'mkbootdisk'.
Read the manual page ('man mkbootdisk') for more information.
