Hello there!

I have a fc8 system (long running) and changed the mainboard (was SIS) to NForce3 chipset.

The kernel is 2.6.25 standard.

The problem is that the system (with the new mainboard) does not load pata_amd at boot-time.
It still loads pata_sis (at boot) and fails to mount my root partition since it can not find the disk the root partition is on.
(on pata)

I booted the rescue disk and pata_amd just loads fine during boot.

Where do I configure my old system to load pata_amd and not pata_sis?
(I can mount all partitions with the rescue disk)

If it's needed for the root, it has to be in the initrd.

I will create my own initrd (via cpio), add the module and see if it works.
