fc7 yum update failed


was trying to update my Fedora core installation today and I got this,

error missing dependency rpm = 4.4.2.1-1.fc7 is needed by package rpm-libs

i also got one for samba common and pam.

what should I do ?

Start by updating yum, yum update yum, then try the update again.
